Anyone used/familiar with Woodriver 10-1/2” quick release vise?

They’re on sale for $170, which seems reasonable for a large quick release vise. Unsure if I can persuade myself, but part of the allure is it may be useful as a tail vise substitute (using the dog on the vise lined up with dog holes on the bench).

At the moment I use a planing stop and workarounds for pinning the wood to the planing stop when going across the grain.
Any opinions are welcomed.

Recently I bought and installed a Yost vise which is EXTREMELY similar. It has the same quick release and same acme with the angled threads, same handle. The fit and finish of it was excellent. Works great.
My only want would be to have the option to put a wood handle on.

The Yost 10-1/2" is $139 on a not to be named extremely large online retailer. I got the 9" for $99, which is plent of vise for me. I make furniture.

One option would be to remove the Tommy bar, then make a wooden hub, and pin that hub thru that bar hole. Then make a wooden handle to fit the wooden hub.

Another option could be a wooden handwheel.

Good find. That seems v likely to be the same vise.
Here's some pictures for scale. My bench is 3-1/4 thick. I also routed a recess and had to add 1/2" ply to the bottom of my bench. I like that back jaw to be flush with the bench leg and front. I've made a fancy hand tool bench with a leg vise and wood screw before but no longer have it. When I worked for a shop we had old patternmakers vises which I never needed to flip around or anything. I decided the next time I make a bench it's going to be as simple as possible.
