I have replaced my Heat Pump and pulled out a very nice squirrel cage fan housing and a 1/4 HP 220 motor. I don't have 220 in my shop, and would love to swap the motor out with a 110 so I can hook this thing up.

I will take a look tonight and see what I can get off of it. I am by no means an electrician. Maybe I can snap some photos also

If it can be rewired, remember it will double your amps.

Although it will double the amp draw, it will also halve the voltage. The watts used will remain the same, so the running cost should also remain the same.

Most fan motors are wound for a specific use. Both AC and Heat Pump air handlers use 220 motors as most likely some will have heat strips, which are 220, added. Cheaper to make them all the same. I ran into this when I needed a HP air handle with a 110 blower. Manufacturer said to buy an extra 110 blower motor and transformer to replace the 220 ones. Of course this would void warranty.
