Any idea where to get 3-4" dia bamboo?

My friend at work wants to make a tikibar and I am unable to find bamboo suppliers. I am in Eastern NC and would like to stay local. Thanks in advance!

With appropriate caveats regarding respect for property rights my first answer is "on the side of the road". Not sure about down east but the stuff is rampant around here.

I was going to say the same thing - Look right at the end of my road. We have some thickets here that cover acres, and acres. I bet some of the plants are 8 inches in diameter - And the faster you cut it down, the faster it grows!!!

Heck, I should start considering some Asian inspired furniture - No material cost for me!!

Not local, but the last time I was there Biltmore Estate had plenty.... :gar-Bi

As has been suggested, I would drive around and see what I could come up with.
