Another fine mess I’ve gotten into

This week I started on Monday morning with an old home built in the 40s that’s getting a full make over. A new master suite,

a craft room or a sewing room,

and a mud room

a laundry room that a lot folks would like.

and then there was a kitchen.

I spent the week here putting this together, I go back in about three weeks and spend the day setting hardware and installing furniture base and shoe molding. I’m sure there will be some readjustments and touch ups along the way.

Dan, the cabinet company delivers and puts it near or in the room. I have to unbox inspect and install. Sometimes I have to make repairs. That’s still a lot moving and toting. It’s what keeps me looking young but feeling old.

My son and I hauled in the cabinets in my kitchen overhaul and it was a bear at the time.

The delivery guys for the most part treat me well when they set up a job. Trust me I appreciate what they do it saves me time and makes for a safer job site.

Why didnt they continue the room crown around the cabinets?

Customers choice they wanted the crown in the room and the cabinet crown to be different. I have a project coming up where I’m running all the crown, I have one room a pantry where I’m running all matching trim for the crown base windows wall panels a library ladder cabinets the whole thing, it will be the most expensive room I’ve ever done in all the years of doing this.

Seems odd. Looks like the right hand and left hand weren't talking during the design process. Your part of the job looks great.

Hey the trim guy and I talked, I would prefer consistency with the crown but the customer want what they wanted, this not the first time I’ve experienced this, two different architectures meeting in the same room. If they are happy I’m tickled pink. Hey even the furniture base is different from the base board.
