Another Bandsaw Box.

Here is the Dozing Duck Bandsaw Box. This design has been around for a long time and may be old for some of you. But I needed a small gift for Christmas for my SIL who love to hunt, I thought this would fill that need.
It is Oak with a wipe-on Ploy finish and the drawer has a blue flocking. The box is about 10" x 3" X 4".
After cutting out the shape I used a coping saw, file and sanding to get the final shape of the head and beak.
The drawer is on the small side but large enough for a watch, rings or chains.

Wow, that is very cool. I have not ever seen a design like that. I have made many BS boxes, but I am scratching my head a little over how you did this one :icon_scra. Is there a plan out there :eusa_thin?

I concur w/Dave & Glenn. that design is not what comes to mind when one thinks "bandsaw box".

I have a few friends who would really like that for Christmas. I've never made a BS box, but, that inspires me to try. Is there a plan somewhere for that design.

Thanks that makes much more sense now. My parents are huge duck fanatics. One room in the house is decorated primarily in that motif. I think I have found one of their X-mas presents :eusa_danc

I realize this is redundant, but that is a REALLY nice box. Like Dave mentioned, I think I found a Christmas gift for my Dad this year! Drawing is nice and appears easy to follow. Thank you for sharing!

Sorry about the the numbers not being clear. I believe they should read 2 1/2" X 3" X 7 1/2". But you can enlarge as I did by applying a % to each number so you will have a larger box that will give you a more useable drawer size.
