I think it's OK where it is. It's related to Woodworking, but definitely a fringe subject, so leaving it in Off Topic wouldn't be too bad. Kinda nice to have something informative to read in that forum
We used to have a forum for "Other woodworking related" for this type of discussion, but it was cleaned up as part of the Forum Reduction Initiative (which was a good thing!)

We've had past examples of light box threads, I think its ok.

We've also had massive threads on digital cameras.......

Off Topic or How To forum seem logical.
