A very satisfying day in the shop

Since we had some snow and ice today I took the day off and listened to Billie Holiday and made a chopping block and finished a Cherry cabinet I've been working on. I really had an awesome day, I hope you did also.

i keep saying ill get around to makeing one, but keep putting it off.
may i ask a couple of questions?
what kind of glue and finish did you use?

Is that maple and chery.

It is Hard Maple and Mahogany end grain Board. I didnt put a finish on it yet. In the past I have used mineral oil. I think on this one I am going to try the Salad bowl finish. I get the rubber feet at Lowes hardware

I used Titebond 3

Just did the second glue-up on one today! Purpleheart and maple! Good day for being in the shop!

Pretty much the same...Wish I had a flat bed sander for tommorow. Dread the ROS this thing will take. Have to do the routing for the handles and roundovers tomorrow also. Haven't bought the salad bowl finish yet. Guess that means a trip to Klingspor. If this one turns out ok, I think I'll make a couple more for my daughters.
