When going through Lowes yesterday I spotted a Milwaukee D handle 1/2 inch drill with the right angle speed reducer, normally a $244 item, but on clearance for $104. It had been the display model but they had long since lost the plug-in power cord, chuck key, side handle, and carry case for it and since they were no longer selling Milwaukee tools they were just trying to get rid of it. Since I had wanted one of these for years, I grabbed it. Concerned that it might be defective, as I couldn't even run it before I bought it, I borrowed a plug-in power cord from one of my son's on the way home to test it and it ran perfectly. When I got home I went on the internet and bought all of the missing pieces for $64, including shipping. In about a week I will have a complete new $244 drill kit for $168. Now that's a pretty good deal! I have an uncle who has one of these, that he bought back in the fifties when he was a building contractor, and it has proven to be a very rugged tool. He is still alive (91), and so is his Milwaukee drill, so I'm convinced that my new duplicate drill to his will live way longer than I will.
