Here is my latest up-cycling project.
I was handed a piece of marble from an old table and was asked “Hey you’re a wood worker. Can you do something with this?” And of course without giving it much thought I said “Sure.” So I took it and made this little side table. (I have since found out that it is called a smoking table.)
I was concerned about it being too top heavy so I added a ceramic flower pot that matched the marble. It is placed high enough that if they decide to actually use a real plant they can put a drip tray underneath without having to move the pot. It is made from Mahogany and Wenge.
Each of the rings are made up of 2 Mahogany rings sandwiching the Wenge ring.
Each complete ring is made from 36 pieces.
The dowels are also Mahogany.
Finished with Odies Oil.
