D Dee2 Gene Corporate Member Jun 28, 2026 #1 with the Stubby lathe Yep, about 45 degrees from from the spindle centerline. I have no idea what the wood is. There is a burl on side and the straight grain side looks like slow growth pine, but the color seems wrong.
