After finishing up the shop sink vanity I am back working on the backbench. I started by planing about 50 more board feet of my oak. Then took time off (yeah, right

) to clean my DC filters (again

) after overflowing my chip bag. Once that was straightened out I started on the end panels and the last small faceframe for the shopvac cabinet. Again, I tried to go with an Arts & Crafts look.

Before the latest round of work:

Each end panel is made up of 15 individual pieces. The 1/4" panels were resawn solid wood:

Here is the left end panel and shopvac cabinet faceframe attached. I'm working on the door for this cabinet which should look a lot like the end panel. After that is done, I will batch cut the parts for the remaining 7 cabinet doors and 10 drawers. The other doors won't be as complicated.

The right end panel is just a mirror image of the left.

Alan,

The backbench is beautiful. The way this thing is looking, when you get finished, you'll want to move out of the living room and into the shop.

Looks great! I am new here (just joined this week), sorry if you've discussed this already, but how big is your shop?

Its 38' X 21'4" and built above my garage. Though I haven't posted shop pics as such, some of my other posts give other glimpses of the "shop in progress"

Alan, ever the busy beaver :-D

Inspiration and perspiration :icon_thum

If we wait a couple months before our next "shop tour", you will have a spare bedroom up there
