Have you cutting board builders seen this Youtube video?

It's kind of a cross between segmented turning and end grain cutting board construction.
I really like the look and may try to build one myself when my life slows down a little.

not taking anything away from this cause I would love to be able to make something like that one day.... but in practicality do people really like and use fancy cutting boards like that.... I guess I am really boring but when I am chopping I do not want distracting.... I guess I am just boring

Instead of all the small blocks why not do long boards cut at the correct angle, glued up once then cut into end grain blocks? Sounds easier, I may have to try one.
