$180 Framing Square ??????

I think they are just taking pre-orders now. Once the ordering deadline is up they begin the manufacturing process so you are going to see a few more reminders until then.

After that you will start getting reminders for the next one time item deal :gar-Bi

That thing weighs 4lbs! Aside from being a pain to move around, it'd put a heck of a ding in the board you just surfaced if it got dropped. Why do I suspect this is aimed at the folks who collect (insert name here) Mint "Collectables", rather than woodworkers??

Yea, $180 is a lot of jack. I do believe, though, that a small collection of reference set-up tools is nice to have: a 9-12" square (I got mine from e-bay for $20), a 24-36" 1/4"-thick straightedge, and a master guage or equivalent for checking parallelism on the table saw. I have others, too, but I would not try to argue that I'm any better off. I use a plastic drafting square for most things.
