18" Triangle a Comparison

I have a TSO 18" triangle I bought about 3 years ago and got it for about 130 bucks. Real nice unit and recently I was doing a job where it would be easier and faster to have two. Decided to buy another aaand ........huh?! they are now 250+/- bucks. Ok....... yeah .......... no.
So, went on a hunt and found another brand I paid 62.00 when I got mine but it could be a bit more now. Oh yeah, it is that popular tool brand AKNGOES. AKNGOES
I took a chance that it might be ok since I can true it up if necessary. Well, it wasn't it is as square as my TSO. However, it does not have some of the same bells n whistles, which for me is no problem, as I never use them. The main difference is the edge with the wide flange to catch the edge; the TSO it is attached mechanically. The AKNGOES it is pressed and glued on.

So if you are looking for a big triangle this may be the thing that works for you. I can say this, a big triangle is a huge benefit to layout, cutting and production time reduction.

Thought I'd share my perspective......... worth it.

I use an 18" acrylic drafting triangle for setup work. I can drop it, run over it with my car, use it like a boomerang, and it stays 90 and 45 degrees. If I need a lip, it can sit on a piece of plywood as a riser. Much less expensive, way more durable and just as accurate.

Yes good for shop but tricky for field work. Also I have 2 as well and they do not work as a guide on some of my saws as they are too thin.
