Grizzly 16" Drum Sander with stand, never used. Paid $950.

  • Equipped with three pressure rollers and two 4" dust collection ports
  • Motor: 2 HP, 220V, single-phase, drum motor provides 2100 FPM of surface speed
  • Handles stock up to 15 3/8" wide & 3 1/2" thick
  • Minimum stock length: 9"
  • Separate 1/4 HP motor drives the industrial rubber conveyor belt at 11 FPM
  • Three pressure rollers hold stock down firmly
  • Heavy-duty steel cabinet
  • 2-4" dia. dust ports
  • State of the art computer balanced drums
  • Powder coated paint (a pleasing shade of green)

Why would anyone get a sander that isn't open-ended? BTW- it is a serious question - I don't know much about either kind but it is on my list of things to get soon.

open end sander offers the ability to sand something wider than stated capacity, which really means something if you need to sand 30" wide panels, but don't have the shop space for a 37" wide machine
