Willem has graciously offered to teach an Inlay Workshop and Bill Clemmons has offered the use of his shop in Liberty, NC as a venue. A big thanks to Willem and Bill for making this workshop possible. The workshop will be held on Saturday 4/2/2016. Willem has generously waived the cost which is indicated on his website (http://thelastwoodworker.com/training-courses/inlay/) for NCWW members who make a $30 donation to the site.

There was an inlay workshop a while back which I was not able to attend. I am really looking forward to this one. It should be great. Reply to this post if you would like to attend. Slots are not officially reserved until Berta confirms that your $30 donation to NCWW has been received.

I plan to sign up for this, but since I am the one announcing it, I have an unfair advantage with respect to getting on the list early. In order to be fair to others, I will wait until tomorrow before signing up, once tomorrow morning comes, I will definitely be signing up if there are still openings available. Sign up while you can. :)

I'd love to attend even though it is a bit of a drive to Bill's shop (been there, done that!). Just hoping that someone can teach this old dog some new tricks! I can also bring my Hegner scrollsaw as well -- will there be any router template inlay work taught as well? If so, I can bring a small router and my Whiteside inlay bushings set. I'll make my donation today and will make it $50 just because.

Hope that the workshop can start about 10 AM as I'll have a 4 hour drive -- if not, I will come down the night before and stay at my daughter's in Apex and drive over to Bills (about an hour).

Dang, I have out of town guests that week. At this point I won't be able to attend. If somebody needs to borrow my Saw and can pick it up prior, they can. It's a DeWalt with a stand.

Looking good. Give me some pointers of what you folks want to do with the inlays you take home after the course, so I know what to prepare and bring with.

Here are some ideas of what I do with mine. Excuse the photography, this was done fast...

I am looking to use this to decorate guitar headstocks and/or rosettes. So, Novice to intermediate would work for me.

EDIT: The rope border is also of interest to me for use as purfling. Both in fabrication and application.

I am interested in learning to do inlaid escutcheons, corner fans and stringing--that type of thing.
