What say you? I have a condenser fan motor and needed a spindle sander this weekend. Was thinking about a shop-made one. Looks like most of the ones on the market are powered by 1/4 1750 RPM or so motors. Would I miss the 700 RPMs if I made it a 1:1 gear ratio?

Did you get the capacitor? Most condenser motors use a 5 mfd/370 vac run cap. They are usually attached to two brown leads.

I have a cap, yes, but this motor doesn't have two brown leads. It has 2 blue that ran to the cap on the unit. So I assume I would hook those to the cap I have.
