Shopmade Vortex Drum

Since it is a pain to empty the bag on the Dust Collector, I decided to make a simple Vortex Drum using the system from Rockler and a Fiber Drum I got from Industrial Supplies on the web. It was easy to do and seems to work very well. This is the Rockler input/output duct system...

The Vortex

Hello NCWW"s, With my Birthday gift I was able to complete this item. (still need 220V though :BangHead: ) Anyway I call it "THE VORTEX" Made with Maple and Jarrah, 121 pieces. PS, This is my first, all by myself, segmented turning, not counting bracelets of course...

I steped into the vortex today!

I bought my first lathe today! It's a 10" Jet VS. I haven't even touched a lathe till today but I was able to make my first pen. It is made out of hard maple that I had left over from a project. This was VERY fun and I can see how this can become addicting. Anyway, here are the pics...
