    Odd Rocker Shoot (PICS!)

As many know, Mike (Shamrock), Jeff (cyclopentadiene) and myself (WoodWrangler) took a class around this time last year with John (woodguy1975) on building a Maloof-style rocker. The rockers have all been done a while now, so we reunited and took them to the park for some pictures. It was a...

Woodguy - Maloof Rocker Class - Held in Charlotte Area

Hey Guys, I know you guys don't hear much from me these days, but I am still around. Being without a shop keeps me from thinking about wood all the time, but I still love it. I've been approached by the Charlotte Klingspor's store to run a remote class in the charlotte area. It appears...

    Franklin Rocker Done

At last I have the prototype for the Lyptus rocker done, but it needs some wax to finish it off for the screened porch. This is an SPF utilitarian rocker for us poor guys. This was an adventure for me since I've never built a chair. I don't have a band saw or a router table so I had to rely...

    Franklin Rocker WIP

A follow-up to my earlier post titled "Jumping in with both feet". Definitely a WIP, but coming along as a Lowe's SPF prototype. No blueprints, plans, etc. just a couple of web photos and some general dimensions from the manufacturer. This has been a seat-of-the-pants design at best sketched...

    Cherry Rocker WIP

I can't afford to take a "Maloof" class so I thought I'd try one on my own. Started by making a full size drawing: (My design) Here are the rough cut side parts: and the seat parts: (it will have an upholstered seat insert.) and finally some parts clamped together: Still deciding on...

Maloof Rocker #2 from Woodguy class completed

I just completed the finish on my rocker yesterday just in time for Christmas. I recommend Woodguy class to anyone regardless of skill level. This expanded my woodworking skills several orders of magnitude. First time posting photos. I hope this works.

Hey Folks, For those who have followed along with these posts, thanks for all of the positive comments. Thanks again to John (Woodguy1975) for offering the class, it's a great intro into chair making. In these posts I've tried to detail the after class work. It's substantial, I'm at about 80-90...

Top post count slightly off its rocker

You may have noticed that we have a new top poster with 4,294,967,295 posts. No, it's not DaveO's overactive cousin. We're making some software updates, which is causing the strange numbers. Rest assured that the site hasn't been invaded by a spamming robot. I'll clear this up in a day or so...
