This was fun to design/build.
Drawing it in Sketchup was harder than building it!
The problem was cutting the curves in the sides that angle in about 6 degrees.
Finish is just a coat of Teak Oil. This redwood darkens up really quick out in the sun.
LOML had it loaded up about 5 minutes...
My co-worked Tom offered me a 25-year old redwood burl he picked up in a previous life in California so that a couple pens could come to life. It was a beautiful piece of wood -- well, who's to judge -- so we chopped it up into pen-size blanks!

Sawed some Dawn Redwood today..Strange stuff.. like watching it change colors in front of your eyes. Light pink to red to dark red with the sun hitting it.. Will post some pics tommorow.
Also started on the walnut logs and man the color is super. Primo walnut.
