    Hardwood in or near Fayetteville

    Gavel made from curly red oak

    I buffed this up to 2000 grit, a quick layer of red mahogany stain (removed immediately), then minwax tung finish, polished while on the lathe. All of the wood is red oak. the handle and head are from the same piece of wood. The head was two pieces of 4/4 glued together. Dave Peterson
