The symptoms: Upon starting, I heard a couple of click… and the bandsaw died. The motor didn’t make a humming sound. It was as if I hadn’t plugged the bandsaw to power.
I placed the repair instructions (that worked for me) in the attached file. Your milage may vary.

Hi all,
I have a Rikon 10-345 bandsaw that I bought second had some time ago. I tried (miserable failure) to resaw some maple over Christmas. The board was about 6" -- which I didn't think would be a problem for an 18" bandsaw. So... I watched a few YouTube videos and replaced the tires...
I have a powermatic 87 bandsaw, birthday is 1967. Its the metal working version of the Powermatic 81. Its basically a more robustly built version of the 81.
It has a 3ph 3hp motor on it now and i was planning on just getting a phase converter because i also have a Powermatic 68 12" tablesaw...
Hi everyone,
I just purchased a Laguna 5HP 12" jointer and am being told it will ship after they install the motor in California. That seems a bit odd, is that normal? I am a little worried they will ship a unit that has previously been returned. Has anyone been in this situation or ordered...
I have an old Goodell Pratt bench lathe to which I'm attaching a 3 speed motor. So I need off/on/on/on (off/low/med/high). Asking around has gotten some differing opinions, one person says I need one kind of switch, someone else says another. The motor is an AC fan motor, 4 wire, 115 V, 1/4 HP...
So I'm new here and thought I'd seek out some input on one of my tools. I have an mid 1980's Craftsman Radial Arm saw with cabinet (like this one) that my Dad gave to me.
About 6 months ago, the motor blew out on the saw. I used it to make some quick cross cuts, there was a bit of smoke...
not mine: Not sure how accurate statements are, but , if true.......

I was lucky enough to buy Wayne's PM 1150A today :). It currently has a 3PH 3/4 HP Leeson motor on it. My options are to either replace the motor with a 110v motor, add a static phase converter or add a VFD.
Right now I am leaning toward a 115v VFD that can drive 1HP...
We discovered a mysterious burning smell earlier today. Turns out is was coming from the registers. The furnace fan would not come on. I have a direct drive system, so it couldn't have been a belt. After a fun trip through the crawl space I removed the side panel of the furnace. I...
What say you? I have a condenser fan motor and needed a spindle sander this weekend. Was thinking about a shop-made one. Looks like most of the ones on the market are powered by 1/4 1750 RPM or so motors. Would I miss the 700 RPMs if I made it a 1:1 gear ratio?
Happy Holidays to all... I used to be a member several years ago when I lived in NC, and I'm glad to be back online, albeit it from SW Virginia...
