    Jointer Knife Setting Jig

Out of all the housekeeping chores around the shop, my least favorite is changing jointer knives. I ran across this video on Fine Woodworking's site. The jig looked simple to make and use so I made a pair. Worked absolutely great. No guesswork - just use the jigs and the knives are perfectly...

    Jointer Cutters Question

In looking for a jointer I would like to get one with a spiral cutter, but my budget tells me to get a conventional blade cutter. If I got the conventional blade model, is it possible to convert it to a spiral cutter down the road? I am definitely looking at a 8" Grizzly G0656.

    Jointer Advice

I'm going to purchase a jointer and am looking for information regarding "What to look for and what to avoid". The various manufactures reviews on the net aren't all that helpful. Figured I'd ask some folks who frequently use the tool. My budget is $500 to $750 max. Thanks for suggestions...

Need help with a Jointer Survey

I need some info. Could those of you who have a jointer with dust port on the front of the enclosed base, check to see if the chute that connects the port to the underside of the cutter head has a top. Or, is the chute three sided, with an open top like on most (all?) Delta DJ-20s (see pic...

    Question for 8" jointer owners

Several years back I purchased an old surplus Porter 8" jointer from the company my wife worked for. They wanted to keep the motor which made no difference to me seeing as how it was 3 phase. Hopefully I'll finally get around to refurbishing this thing this winter. Question for you owners is...

    Installing Dispoz-a-Blades in 16" Jointer

I just finished installing Dispoz-a-Blades in my new Grizzly G9953 16-inch jointer. The installation was not a walk in the park, but after some modifications I came up with, the job is complete and the machine works beautifully. There were significant obstacles to overcome and I thought it worth...

    Replacing jointer knives

I have an old delta 37-220 (6" jointer) that apparently takes 6 1/8x 19/32 x 3/32 knives. I ended up ordering the wrong size: 6 1/8 x 5/8 x 1/8. So it is 1/32 too tall and 1/32 too thick. It didn't look too crazy so I installed them anyway. I ended up having to grind down my wrench to be able...
