    Deck Replacement

Hi Y'all, I have a deck that is in need of the top boards being replaced. It is 2x6x8 and 2x6x10 treated pine. There are 54-8' and 95-10' and 1-2x8x10. I would like to replace the top with something better than the treated pine as it is not a covered deck and will not be covered anytime soon...

    Deck refinishing question? Help!

Hey guys, to let you know what I've got. I built a wooden patio deck about 2 years ago now out of pressure treated pine woods. I didn't want my deck to become the ol drabby dark, dull brown boards that they become left untreated with further treatment. So I turned to the internet for...

    Non-oil based deck sealant????

Any recommendations for a non-oil based deck sealant. Oil-based products contain BLO or other soy based oils and they can be food for algae and mildew to grow on the deck surface. I have a 365 sq. ft. deck on the north side of my house. AFAIK it has never had anything done to it. It was pretty...

    Wip Cypress Deck Table

It has finally cooled down enough for me to do some shop work so I started this table to be used on the deck at our beach house. Maybe I can actually set down a cool beverage once in a while now:rotflm: The top is two rings that sandwitch the slats in place. The bottom will have stretchers and...

    Deck Staining Question...

I have rebuilt my deck and want to make sure I get this right after all my hard work. I have original boards that were in good shape after being flipped, and some deck boards are brand new. Once the old boards are pressure washed they match up to the new pretty well. I have let the "green"...

    Deck stain removal

I started pressure washing my deck today. I wonder if there's any type of stain/finish remover to speed it along? At the rate I'm going I may be doing this until labor day:eek: I have an opaque redwood stain on it and will probably re-stain the same color. I can't remember if it was water base...

    Deck Stain...

I've been doing some online research and I've heard good things about Penofin and Deckscapes. Anybody have any advice on staining a new pressure treated deck. Also, how long do I need to wait before staining. I've heard anywhere from none to 6 months. Flexner says a month is sufficient. What say...

    Painting a deck

I've got a coworker who has put up a new deck and wants to paint it. It is made out of pressure treated lumber. His question is how long to let the PT lumber dry before painting. Any Ideas?

    From the Hammock

After much planning, consideration, and convincing of Her Royal Highness, I built this. It's just over 1300 square feet, has 3 levels, a hot tub, 2 stairs with gates and a 10x14 trelis. Total cost was about 7k (which included a couple extra new tools - of course). I cannot imagine what a company...

Tree toad who lives under the hot tub cover

Mr Toad lives under the hot tub cover year round. In exchange for his warm surroundings we get a bug free hot tub area. He does leave a few messes here and there, but the hot tub chemicals take care of them. Small price to pay for no bugs and a unique pet.
