City of Raleigh Yard Waste Facility

If you need compost, well aged leaves (for mulch), or shreded wood mulch, then you owe it to yourself to check out the City of Raleigh Yard Waste Facility. They are located off New Hope Road between New Bern Ave and highway 64/264 east of Raleigh. It's about a mile and a half north of Poole Road...

finished carved city panel

Finally finished the panel!!!!! and only had 520 hours in it! There are 1123 windows in it and there are 64 shades of 6 basic colors...each custom mixed. I guess the painting was around 70 hours. I shipped it Monday to Minnesota and was thrilled it was over...I have been working 6 days a week...

Here is a commission I have been working on for awhile. The material is poplar glued up to 48" x 96" x 2 3/4". It has been a monster. The white parts are bondo to fill knots, splits and mistakes in the early planning/carving. Probably the most difficult job I ever had and I will be glad when...
