I'm trying to cut some 3-1/2" wide strips of 3/4" birch ply on my CMS, but it seems to want to burn through the wood rather than cut it. :kamahlitu
The blade is the cheapo original that came with the saw, but it does say it is a plywood blade and has not seen much wood in its lifetime. I...
I have a little (read very little) shop time over the weekend, so I though I'd practice using spiral blades. I have 2/0 FD "new" spirals. I'm getting the hang of using them, but they leave extremely rough inside edges (vertical lines). It seems that it will take forever to sand in addition to...
I ordered a couple of these blades from Mike Jackson, over at Leitz. They are the very best blades I have ever used to cut birch plywood. Absolutely no tear out and very quiet running. Only paid $25 each, plus freight. Bought a total of five blades, including the HO Shumacer & Sohn blades, and...
Wanted to try this blade for a couple of reasons. First, the panel I am gluing is fairly large (long) and I thought it would be easier to do on the TS. Second, I am taking chunks out, even with new blades in the jointer and taking only a fuzz off each pass.
I would call my results mixed. Some...
I can remember when I bought my Uni in the mid 90's reading about how important it was to set the height of the blade just right. I soon forgot everything I had read. I now go by the rule "the less the blade shows above the wood the less there is to cut me".
I just orderd the Freud glue line...
I just bought an oddball 14" saw the other day. It's a "ThomCo" that is shorter than most 14" saws so it takes a slightly smaller blade. But the price was right and it turns out to have the same upper half casting as the Grizzly G1019 that was discontinued not long ago, so Grizzly is selling off...
Though I don't have one, I emailed Worksharp with an improvement suggestion that would definitely make me buy one ... and that was to support a wider blade in the pre-fixed angles where the chisel goes ...
This was the response ...

My storage disease continues. I made this rack for my TS blades based on a Wood Magazine plan I found. Only problem is I still have 2 blades left. :BangHead:. I plan on building something on every inch of wall space!! :gar-Bi

Hey All,
I will be gratefully indebted to anyone that can help me figure out what size blade I need in my jointer. I have an older Chiwanese 8" jointer (no name on it), and the blades that were on it were 8" x 1/2" x1/8", I'm figuring out that someone ground the blades down. I ordered 5/8"...
What are the best quality blades and where do you buy them?
I have a Dewalt 735 planer and Powermatic 54A 6" jointer.
The planer is using the disposable two-sided blades sold by Dewalt. Can these planers take anything else "out of the box" (in other words, I'm not going to try to rig...
well i have to change the blades on a dw733 planer, and its a little unclear how to use the magnetic blade guide things,as there was no manual with the machine. was wondering if anyone with one of these could please give me a little insight into this opperation..thanks
I have a Sears dado blade mounted in ye old Craftsman bench top table saw. The cutters and chippers are evenly spaced. Everything seems tight.
The saw is screwed to 3/4" plywood, with a 2"x4" screwed in the middle of the bottom of the plywood. The whole shebang is clamped in a "workmate"...
Where do you all get your table saw blades sharpened? Is there a place in the triangle area, or do you send them off? What are the costs typically? Any info you guys have would be awesome

I think a Blade stabilizer will certainly help my 10 inch Delta band saw cut straighter / truer.
What are your thoughts on this?
What model should I get?
Where can i get one from?

I am looking for a low cost (CHEAP), but not C%^P, flat topped 10" GP saw blade for the times I need to make a kerf cut, dado, etc. The majority of blades seem to be ATB. It won't be on the saw that often.
