Creating “Toadstool” Pattern on Mission Style

I have used ceramic tile and various types of glass to add some decoration to Mission style pieces, but I want to try the Toadstool cutouts. Has anyone done that and, if so, how? I was looking for a template, but haven’t found one.

    Mold? Insects?

I started using some Hickory that I have had sitting around for 4-5 years. When I was brushing it down I came upon these areas. They are full of a very fine white powder. As you can see from the pictures they appear to be mostly on the edges and can be an inch or so deep. The surrounding wood...

    Update: Jointer alignment issue

This is an update to a previous post. This may not be the best way of updating, so please excuse any posting protocol issues. Attached is a drawing of the measurements taken on my jointer tables with a 4' Veritas straight edge. I still don't know if the discrepancies I'm seeing are enough to...

    Jointer Cutters Question

In looking for a jointer I would like to get one with a spiral cutter, but my budget tells me to get a conventional blade cutter. If I got the conventional blade model, is it possible to convert it to a spiral cutter down the road? I am definitely looking at a 8" Grizzly G0656.

I won a Lot in the IRS auction in Arrington, VA. There are two items in the pickup details that are concerning me. First is the Certificate of Insurance. They mention this is applicable for "non-hand" loads. What does that mean? Also, is this COI absolutely necessary? Has anyone picked up a...
