Shelf project 1
Overall view of the installed shelves with window. Window treatment and carpet were not complete when this photo was made. The base cabinets were installed and leveled first. The top arches/corbel assemblies were fitted on site to accommodate ceiling variation. The center arch board is about 76 inches long and got final fitting on site.
The project was built in my garage shop in Winston Salem and installed in my son's condo in Alexandria, Va. The case is cherry veneer plywood with a face frame of solid cherry. Corbels, arches, and shelf faces also solid cherry. The project is finished with a dilute coat of shellac sanding sealer, then a coat of danish oil with a little cherry stain added. Top finish is 3 coats of satin polyurathane varnish cut half and half with turpentine and wiped on
