Looks like a nice selection of chisels, and associated others. What is your favorite brand for carving? I have some two cherries for carving and also have an 11 piece firmer chisel set which I believe is very old and very valuable. I use them a lot and the way they are made, they are certainly meant to be used. I will post a pic of them sometime this week.
mshel, i really like the pfeil gouges that woodcraft carries. their v-tools however, leave a lot to be desired, too much metal at the base of the v. i have a beautiful antique v-tool that is much more nicely made. i spent some time with chris pye and used some of his auriou tools from france, any new specialty tools (anything other than standard gouges) i buy will be from auriou. the bottom row of gouges are henry taylor's fred cogelow signature tools, skewed gouges, they're neat but not very useful day to day. one of those things that when you need it you need it. i'll find chris pye's website and post it in the links section, lots of talk about tools there, and links to purchase auriou and ashley iles tools.
