What exactly are you looking for?
Do you have a lathe and tools or do you want to "Try it out"
What do you want to make? (how turned forms or spindle work, pens? etc.)
That is smart!I have a lathe and Hunter carbide tools. I've turned a few bowls and spindle items but wat to learn traditional tools, proper techniques and hollow forms.
John C Campbell Folk School is set to re-open in May

I believe JCCFS offers week long and weekend classes----------maybe a weekend there would workLooks good but it's 3 hours away from me. I was hoping for something a bit closer to Asheville
Did you try Alan Dewey? He's right there in Asheville.
If you are on Facebook his page is Bobbin Boy. His wife is Milissa Ellison Dewey. You can reach out to both of them.I sent an email, but no response.
I’d like to help but I’m probably 3 hours away as well.
