Started this clock around Christmas time, decided to play with the angle on the saw to see what kind of effect I could get with the base of the clock (aka - the water). I liked how it looked but had to take a break from it to get through year end accounting processes and tax season at the office.

Picked back up about 4 weeks ago, got it assembled 2 weeks ago, and added a coat of poly almost every day over the past two weeks. Decided to just bite the bullet and ad the felt and the quartz movement and call it finished. #5 blades - Flying Dutchman. A little blue dye to get the water effect on the base.

Cool! What kind of wood?

Cherry (base and front of house), Maple (lighthouse tower, back of house), Walnut (secondary base, boat), Poplar (roof and trim on house), Sapele (Wheel) and pine (wheel grips, post).

What are the horizontal lines on the edge-side of the lighthouse itself?
